We were fortunate enough to have the blessed month of Ramadhan descend upon us once again. As the blessed days of Ramadhan passed, the tranquillity and peace could be felt in the atmosphere. As always, the melodious sound of the Qur’an being recited could be heard around the school, as children busied themselves in the recital of the Qur’an and dhikr at every chance they got.

The two fun packed weeks of STEM were launched this year with an exhilarating assembly featuring soaring rockets, erupting volcanoes, and explosive experiments. The key theme this year was ‘growth’, encouraging children to GROW your mind, GROW your community, GROW your world. To kick things off, we welcomed Boffin Alex to school for an assembly, who enthralled the children with a series of exciting experiments. Boffin Alex left the children truly impressed with his knowledge and expertise.

Our favourite week of the year was here again…book week! With a delicious theme of ‘relishing reads’, book week kicked off with a zoom meeting featuring a very exciting guest…Zainab Mian, author of the much loved ‘Planet Omar’ series.

‘Grumpf, grrnn, harrumph, grunt grunt- That would be the equivalent of saying hello back in the stone ages, as our children learnt in History week this year! History week kicked off with a history themed assembly on 8th of October 2021, with a caveman intruder who had come to grunt hello to the children.

On Wednesday 23rd June 2021, the Year 6’s took part in a crime workshop with local community patrol officers, Gemma and Walid. The hour-long session began with the students being informed about the police structure and the hard work they are required to complete on a daily basis.

Throughout the Summer Term, Year 4 have been looking at our Local Area in History. On 17th of June 202, students had the opportunity to go on a guided historical tour of Evington Valley Road, with Mr Dale from Historic England.
