STEM Week 2021
Here at Land of Learning, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and maths) is very important to us. So this year for STEM week we celebrated a theme of ‘addressing misconceptions about STEM professions’ and professionals, with the aim of inspiring our children and allowing them to believe that they can pursue any career they set their heart on.
Book Week 2021
At Land of Learning we LOVE to read! We have had a terrific week as always this year celebrating book week, which began on the 1st of March 2021. To kick things off, we started with our book week assembly, preparing our children for the fun-packed week ahead.
Packages for the homeless shelters
This year, during the cold and rainy Autumn term, our children learnt about the importance of empathy, and putting themselves in the shoes of those who are less fortunate.
End of Term Virtual Trip
This year, due to Covid-19, we were unable to schedule in our usual outdoor trips for our children, but this did not stop our teachers!
Bikeability – Year 5 and Year 6
During the month of November, our Year 5 and Year 6 children were given the exciting opportunity to take part in a 2-week cycle training programme with ‘Bikeability’, a national award-winning cycle training institute based in Cambridgeshire.
Anti-Bullying week 2020 – United against Bullying
This year for anti-bullying week, our children and staff joined together to celebrate the key theme of ‘united against bullying’- the idea that if we as a school/community all work together, we can combat bullying.
Climate Action Fortnight 2020
At Land of learning we pride ourselves in being an eco-friendly school. Children are encouraged to join the school ‘eco-Committee’, where members partake in various eco projects, with the aim of raising environmental awareness in our children from a young age.
Book Week 2020
Throughout this year’s book week, pupils immersed themselves in a range of poetry and performed out loud using different voice expressions, body language, tone and volume. They were also exposed to a range of poetic devices and used this to create their own poems for the ‘Painting In Words’ masterpiece competition.
Year 4 Assembly
This year, children from Year 4 did a fantastic performance based on traditional tales.
Year 4 Trip – Twycross Zoo
Throughout the Spring Term, our year 4 pupils had been studying the topic living things and their habitats. This topic focussed on the 7 life processes of a living thing, grouping animals, creating classification keys, and the various dangers to animals.
