Beaumanor Hall Trip – Year 5
Throughout the Autumn term, children in year 5 had been studying World War II in particular they focused on evacuees during that time.
Comprehension Skills – PAP session
Reading VIPERS is a method we use to support children with their reading comprehension skills. All children work on VIPERS during class reading, whether it is reading as a class, in a small group, or one-to-one with an adult.
Coffee morning – KS1 Reading
During our coffee morning on 19th of November 2019 we discussed the importance of Reading and how to foster love and enjoyment of reading at home.
Quality of writing across the curriculum – PAP session
Week beginning 18th of November 2019, we welcomed parents from Year 1 to Year 6 into our classrooms.
Heritage Trail – Year 5
As part of our History curriculum and work with other communities, Year 5 looked at WWII and the Great Battle of Britain. To support what they do in school we organised a Heritage Trail around Braunstone Village in partnership with Emmanuel Christian School and in association with our Heritage Award partners on 13th of November 2019
Anti-Bullying week 2019
As part of National Anti – Bullying Week – 11th of November 2019, our children became representatives for the ‘Change starts with us’ campaign in partnership with the Anti – Bullying Alliance.
Coffee morning and E-safety for parents
As we kick – started the year with lots of new ideas and changes, we held a curriculum coffee morning on 6th November 2019 to inform parents about new strategies that have been introduced at the school.
Macmillan Coffee and Curriculum Information morning
This year as part of our efforts to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, we organised a Cultural Street Food morning alongside an interactive curriculum information meeting for parents on the 25th September 2019.
Team Building Day – Class of 2020
This year we had a team building day for our Year 6 children. This educational fun trip took place in September 2019.
Yr6 Residential Trip – Class of 2019
Residential 2019 proved to be a great success once again Alhamdulillah! Our children took part in two days of adventure filled activities and were given plenty of opportunities to exercise their independence and learn some vital life skills.
