The children were trained by professional instructors in small groups, over a period of 2 weeks. Starting their training with basic safety skills such as checking brakes and wheels, they then progressed to confidently riding their bikes around the local area. By the end of the course, the children had achieved Bikeability level 2, meaning they could also independently ride their bikes on single lane roads and simple junctions. The course proved to be a confidence building, stimulating experience for the children, allowing them to develop a life skill of riding a bike whilst introducing them to a more eco- friendly method of travel. Overall, our children thoroughly enjoyed their experience, and we look forward to welcoming the Bikeability team back next year!
