Students were then presented with the opportunity to put themselves in the shoes of various police roles involved in investigating a crime. The investigation began with a role play of a crime which took place within the classroom. As witnesses, the students were required to write witness statements putting to practice their observational skills. They also applied their practical skills by collecting evidence and taking finger prints. Finally, before convicting the offender they put on their investigatory hats and questioned the potential suspect.
Overall this exclusive immersive, real-life experience was thoroughly relished by all our Year 6 students. One of the students exclaimed, “It was a different experience, tension and excitement throughout”.
