Book Week 2022
Our favourite week of the year was here again…book week! With a delicious theme of ‘relishing reads’, book week kicked off with a zoom meeting featuring a very exciting guest…Zainab Mian, author of the much loved ‘Planet Omar’ series.
History Week
‘Grumpf, grrnn, harrumph, grunt grunt- That would be the equivalent of saying hello back in the stone ages, as our children learnt in History week this year! History week kicked off with a history themed assembly on 8th of October 2021, with a caveman intruder who had come to grunt hello to the children.
Year 6 turn detectives!
On Wednesday 23rd June 2021, the Year 6’s took part in a crime workshop with local community patrol officers, Gemma and Walid. The hour-long session began with the students being informed about the police structure and the hard work they are required to complete on a daily basis.
Pollination – Eco School
As part of Eco schools, year 4 were chosen to take part in a new learning initiative called ‘Pollination’. The focus of the project is to encourage children to learn more about pollinators, their environment and how they can make an impact to the environment too.
Year 4 Heritage Trail
Throughout the Summer Term, Year 4 have been looking at our Local Area in History. On 17th of June 202, students had the opportunity to go on a guided historical tour of Evington Valley Road, with Mr Dale from Historic England.
Ramadhan 2021
The month of Ramadhan is always a special time at Land of Learning, and this year was no different. As the moon was sighted and the blessed month of Ramadhan began, a sense of peace and tranquillity could be felt around the school.
STEM Week 2021
Here at Land of Learning, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and maths) is very important to us. So this year for STEM week we celebrated a theme of ‘addressing misconceptions about STEM professions’ and professionals, with the aim of inspiring our children and allowing them to believe that they can pursue any career they set their heart on.
Book Week 2021
At Land of Learning we LOVE to read! We have had a terrific week as always this year celebrating book week, which began on the 1st of March 2021. To kick things off, we started with our book week assembly, preparing our children for the fun-packed week ahead.
Packages for the homeless shelters
This year, during the cold and rainy Autumn term, our children learnt about the importance of empathy, and putting themselves in the shoes of those who are less fortunate.
End of Term Virtual Trip
This year, due to Covid-19, we were unable to schedule in our usual outdoor trips for our children, but this did not stop our teachers!
