Throughout this year’s book week, pupils immersed themselves in a range of poetry and performed out loud using different voice expressions, body language, tone and volume. They were also exposed to a range of poetic devices and used this to create their own poems for the ‘Painting In Words’ masterpiece competition.
This year, children from Year 4 did a fantastic performance based on traditional tales.
Throughout the Spring Term, our year 4 pupils had been studying the topic living things and their habitats. This topic focussed on the 7 life processes of a living thing, grouping animals, creating classification keys, and the various dangers to animals.
As part of our Parent as Partners we invited parents during week beginning 3rd of February 2020, to come and work with their children on Word problems.
On Thursday 30th January 2020, we had a very enthusiastic and interactive whole school assembly delivered by Phil from Severn Trent Water followed by two very ‘hands on’ workshops for the Year 4 and 5 pupils.
On Wednesday 29th January 2020, we had a very informative visit from the Fire and Rescue service’s representative Kim who delivered their Fire Safety schools education programme to our Year 1 and Year 5 pupils.

On Friday 24th January 2020 our student councillors made a very special trip to Leicester Royal Infirmary to deliver ‘goody bags’ to the hospitals charity department.
On Tuesday 14th of January 2020, Land of Learning hosted its second coffee morning for parents.
Our very own Land of Learning Polling station opened its door at 9am on Thursday 12th of December 2019. The children were ready and waiting, having already registered to vote the week before. Excited chatter could be heard as the children debated in their groups who they would be voting for. Our important candidates marched down the corridors, smartly dressed with their party rosettes, in a last bid attempt to gain final supporter.
